I dont see it as a conflict.....NZ & US are hardly likely to enter into a war with each other.. The oath for US citizenship does not mention war. I see a conflict in the very first sentence of the US and NZ oaths... ""I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen;" The first sentence in the NZ oath reads... "I (your name) swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of New Zealand, Her heirs and successors according to the law, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of New Zealand and fulfil my duties as a New Zealand citizen." It is your choice. I am outta here.
