let me say, as a lower right hand quadrant dweller, caviar is delicious, the little black ones and the big orange ones, particularly with condiments for the former, and rice balls with the latter :0)

I don't have a problem with harvesting fish eggs if the entire fish will be eaten as well.

Caviar is one of those things that are actually as good as people say they are, but you have to get the really good stuff, Beluga or Osetra, like that. Just eat it with a spoon or on plain unsalted crackers, don't tart it up.

For that matter, foie gras is one of those things that are actually as good as they say they are, especially just plain pan seared. Not very nice to the goose, though.

There are a lot of things that "they say" are good but aren't really, at least in my opinion. Champagne. The bubbles are fun but otherwise not much of a drink. Nobody would drink it if it didn't have the bubbles.
