The market under Clinton did GREAT, what are you talking about? Those who simply held doubled their money at least.

As for dot-bombs, that was a very speculative part of the market. If you sold before they crashed, you made a killing. If you didn't you got killed. Also there was the stupid day-trading craze. Like a big casino. But the dot-bombs did not represent the overall market. Also, if you held stocks like YHOO and EBAY you'd be doing great now.

The real problem with the dot-bomb rage was that, like any booms (and this one had nothing to do with Clinton) it had to end and turn into a bust. So that sector was basically a game of musical chairs. We see some of the same over-exhuberance now BTW in real estate and development especially.

But you're missing the point. Bush's economy stinks because it is build completely on debt-spending and war. Clinton's was solid because it was build on rock, paid for budgets and finally large surpluses.
