True, plus individual (stock) breakouts can be bought....the HUI is a roadmap but it's not the only plan to be followed, just the plan for most of the bucks. I do think the Fed will raise in December, after that it'll get pretty interesting. The dollar may have a bit more upside, at worst up to 95. Then BIG down, which should correspond to a nice jump in the POG, again, probably when the Fed quits increasing short rates. It's kinda cool the way the pieces are falling into place for a huge move in dirts next year.....

I'd also add that since polar uses options a lot more than me, his approach makes sense, because when the breakout occurs, call premiums will likely skyrocket. So if you're gonna be there (long calls) you'd like to be early with at least a good chunk of the position......I use the stocks, so it's less of an issue. I may make an exception and buy some GFI calls this week, though, since they're getting a special beating courtesy of HMY management.....<G>

the meat of the move will be above 257 -- that's when the little ones will get "hyper"

You betcha! My PMs could triple by HUI 300. I remember a couple of days in early 2002 when so many of the juniors jumped 40%, but until then they were just drifting lower. The current situation is similar, but when will the starting gun be fired?
