That is how I started bowling. A way to get out of the house then and get more exercise. And also put my son in the nursery to play with others his age. There were none then in our neighbor and he was always looking for playmates and caused me a lot of grief looking for him. I mostly dressed him in red so I could see him a block away and get in the car and go after him. He was so adventurous.

Met a lot of neat ladies and made great friends that I still bowl with some of them. We have all brought our kids, and then grandkids and took turns holding the new babies as they got up to bowl. These babies are all grown up and still think of us as part of their families and bring their children for us to see from time to time. It's like going back in time and brings us great joy to see them.

I still love to bowl, but sometimes it can be such a frustrating game. We hear "I hate this game" on the lanes often. Some days, timing, approach and coordination just are not all there and it turns bad, just like a bad hair day does. LOL

When I came back to my league after my illness, I could hardly handle my bowling balls and had to stand up close to the line to throw which ever I used. My average became very low and it was surely a test of endurance to finish three games and go home and have to take a nap to finish out the day. The exercise makes me feel better, but some days I have to make myself get up to dress and go. The bed is just so comfortable and I think about sleeping in. I am always glad I went though.
