I hear you... good idea. It is always much more fruitful to put forth the positive than attack the negative. Although there ARE times when sheer volume of marginality obfuscates the good... or truth. I point to this post:

as being very helpful in ones quest. Hold up any bible with a bookmark between NT and OT... the OT is massive and yet clearly ("I bring you a NEW and everlasting covenant") not even part of the teachings of the religions namesake.

In short:

Jesus: Love, Compassion, Peace, Forgiveness
OT: "Eye for an Eye", "retribution", "judgement" and in some cases even vengance and hate.

< I mean there is nothing wrong with a five-year-old going to kindergarten because that is where he needs to start.>

Unfortunately someone (Council of Nicea?) set up the bible starting with the OT... I can't imagine anything simpler than Love and Jesus teachings to be honest... nor more misleading and frustrating than schlaggin thru the OT before reading the NT... doubt many would get there.

Anyway, I don't mean to imply modern Christians aren't spiritual... and many diligent people find their way to the truth even of the OT... but I agree that the best course is positive contributions... it is currently late, but I will put thoughts and quotes together soon. THANKS! :))
