I'll bet you've seen that conservative copy/paste spam that compares deaths in Detroit against deaths in Iraq?

Interesting apples and watermelon comparison. The gist is to convince you that the mortality rate in Detroit is comparable or less than the mortality rate in Iraq. Cheney made a similar claim. But what does it compare? It compares all deaths in Detroit against only US military deaths in Iraq. They don't even bother to mention that Iraqis are dying. Further, US troops in Iraq function as a sort of a police function. So either compare all deaths in Detroit against all death in Iraq [US forces, contractors, Iraqis, etc.] or compare the number of police killed in Detroit to the number of coalition forces killed in Iraq.
