The Paris peace negotiations happened three years too late, and went on for a long, long time. Meanwhile US troops were dying and Nixon was bombing the hell out of the "enemy" areas. God knows how many those bombs killed.

Many interested groups visited with parties on each side in Paris to try and help get that dastardly war over with. Kerry's interest in the peace talks was making sure our troops and POW's got home ASAP safely. Period. Because so long as the war went on, the troops and POW's were dying.

Any righwinger who defends the prolongation of the Vietnam War is not only wrong but against the interests of our troops and POW's. By 1971-1972 that war was lost and needed to end ASAP.

Kerry has never had any sympathy for communist governments. He proved it by killing their soldiers. That wasn't the issue. The issue was to get that war over with, and Nixonites were taking their damn time about it. Meanwhile, every day in Nam more US soldiers were being killed for no good reason.
