From Wallstj online-today-

China's Ministry of Health confirmed the country's first three human cases of bird flu, two of which were fatalities. China is now the fifth country in which the virus has jumped from birds to people. The fatalities were a 12-year-old girl in Hunan (central China) and a 24-year-old female poultry worker in Anhui (eastern China), said Roy Wadia, a spokesman in Beijing for the World Health Organization. The third case was the girl's nine-year-old brother, who also fell ill but has recovered, Wadia said. More.
