I would expect any honest decent person who "thought it obvious that Saddam didn't have anything all that dangerous" would have come forward and spoke forcefully about why it was so obvious.

Who are these honest decent persons who "thought it obvious that Saddam didn't have anything all that dangerous"?

I have seen dozens of quotes from every dem leader and it's obvious none of them believed "that Saddam didn't have anything all that dangerous"

You are making an argument suggesting imaginary people existed. I call them imaginary people because I don't know of any.

Based upon the comments of all the real people I have seen, Only people with a political agenda would say they think he "mislead" which of course means lied.

Can you name a real person who was public about what was obvious now, back then???

Liars call mistakes lies. There have been many, many discussions on SI that illustrated that liars post on SI.

Is there a difference between arguing the opinions of non existent people and providing false information.

I really should have qualified my statement by saying politicians would say he "mislead" instead of he lied, and I would further qualify that by saying that those politicians who play this game are cowards who can't even be honest enough to say he lied instead of pussy footing around. This is the PfP thread afterall.

I consider this type politician to be dishonest, calculating, greedy and self absorbed........not to mention paranoid. I cannot think of one instance where a Senator or Congressman who supposedly believes this garbage has offered an ounce of proof to these allegations. All I hear is blather, bloviating and screaming. And it is quite clear their motive is political. Any U.S. representative that behaves in this manner should be thoroughly denounced and run out of WDC on a rail. I don't appreciate liars representing our nation.

Shall I assume that these dishonest politicians cannot tell the difference between the truth and false information and they think the American people are afflicted with the same malady? Are they so illiterate and brain dead that they do not remember their own words? If this is the case, they must leave public office and quit representing the U.S.A.

Yes, there is ample proof that people call mistakes lies. Just look at Patrick J. Fitzgerald.
