though spike comes at an inconvenient time, as I am in the market for more, to mineralize current year savings and past month's surplus.

Usual. Dollar in up trend, along with USD-space interest rate. Perhaps Shades can explain why gold is not money.

Perhaps 500 will grab more of the crowds' imagination by the dangling parts, and point way to their housing-enhanced and enthusiastic wallets :0)
