Maybe you're right, but I'm thinking we're in for the slow bleed routine a la Chrysler for a little while yet, as everyone stands around arguing -- the unions against wage cuts, the voters against tax breaks, pensioners against benefit reductions, lenders against more advances, blah blah blah, etc. etc. -- in the meantime, the ever diminishing pool of longs will keep hitting the bids all the way down to get what they can, while they can.

Then after everybody is sick to death of the topic, Big Nippon steps in with a few billion yen and offers to save the day, and the deal gets spun as not costing American taxpayers anything (hahaha).
