So glad I found this thread. I am an avid ski enthusiast that tries to get in a new ski area every year. I failed miserably last year due to having too much work at home and too little snow out west. We contemplated going down to Mammoth a couple of times but didn't manage to go.

I learned to ski in Aspen Colo while living there in the 70s. I moved to Seattle in the mid 70s and have regretted it ever since. We just don't have powder here like they have in the Rocky Mts.

I have not skied in Europe, but would like to some day.

I bought a new pair of parabolics two years ago and love them. I buy a seasons pass every year for a small area closest to my home...http://www.stevenspass.com/index.aspx. It isn't Aspen mt, but it will have to do.

I hope to post more later when I have had the chance to go out for my first day.

M

Vermont is devastated by the worst floods since 1927. Rutland Herald published this reader photo of a collapsed base lodge at Killington, but I'm not sure which one. Scroll down almost to the bottom to see the photo.
