Killer Tells Families They Shouldn't Blame Him For Their Pain WEWS Newsnet 5 ^ \| Today \| newsnet5.com RAVENNA, Ohio -- James Trimble will be put to death by lethal injection. A Portage County judge handed down the sentence Wednesday after a jury recommended the death penalty last week. Trimble was convicted last month of killing his girlfriend, Renee Bauer, 42, her 7-year-old son, Dakota, and Kent State University student Sarah Positano, 22, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, in Brimfield Township in January. Before sentencing, the victims' families had their say in court. Trimble sat emotionless as the families described how their lives have been shattered. Renne Bauer's parents said they will take hate for Trimble to their graves. Positano's parents said Trimble robbed them of a graduation, grandchildren and a precious daughter. Through tears and anger, they told a judge what Trimble has done to their lives. "What did Sarah ever do to deserve this? What did she do? Everything she was asked to do she did. An innocent young girl had no part in this and he takes her life," Susan Positano said. The judge offered Trimble a chance to make a final statement. He offered very little remorse and said the families shouldn't blame him for their pain. "The families always talk about their pain. My mother has the same pain they have. Is that justice? You don’t transfer pain from one to another. I hope their families can get over their hate," Trimble said. He blames a lifelong addiction to drugs for causing him to commit the murders. Trimble is set to die on Dec. 15, 2006.
