53 US soldiers killed in the first 17 days of this month. Almost no change from the scenario two YEARS ago, when 82 US soldiers were killed for the entire month. Unless we fire the incompetent and stupid guys who said "major combat is over" (over 2 1/2 years ago), "there are just a few dead-enders" (more than two years ago), and "the insurgency is in it last throes" (several months ago), this will keep on going and we will have 3000+ dead by November 2006.
