Wrong. Vietnam was based on a huge lie and totally unrealistic assumption. We put everything we had into Vietnam, including over 500,000 troops and more bombs than in all of WWII and things got worse and worse, not better and better. In the end it was like Iraq. We couldn't even secure our own "green zone". Plus we wer guilty of all kinds of nasty atrocities in our desperation to "win". But it was unwinnable and so is Iraq.

Our troops fought bravely, but like Iraq is was not their fault but the fault of the policy-makers on top who lied to us and to themselves. And the big war profiteers who lobbied to keep the war going.

Never ever attack peace-makers. Those who wanted the war in Vietnam to end were heros. They stood up to a very brutal White House (remember Kent State?) to save our troops and our reputation as a nation. They did the right thing and the Christian thing. Never ever defend a war based on lies. Vietnam was not a threat and neither was Saddam. Neither was worthy in invasion and occupation. Both were huge bungled mistakes.
