I think perhaps younger people should carry either a 22 calibre or at the most a 32 until they demonstrate the ability to shoot straight.

At sporting events participants and spectators would of course be expected to carry something a bit larger.

A coach of a football team would carry a sawed off shotgun and a coach of a hockey team would carry a machine gun unless of course they were professional level and at that point could carry bazookas.

And yes of course the students could choose what weapons they wanted.
