Our Prime Minister, Mckenzie King, had told Hitler in 1939 that in the event of war Canada would side with Britain.
So it is sufficient simply for a PM to shoot off his mouth to get you into a war? GEESH! And you criticize us? I would think a vote of the Canadian Parliament would be required. No?

Your argument won't stand in any case. The Republic of Ireland was a member of the Commonwealth until 1949. It never got involved in WW2. Apparently, it didn't read the part that required it to go to war if Britain did.

We went to war to support our allies and to protect our interests.
Allies? That implies a treaty of alliance. Got a link to the text?
YOU had interests in this war? You were like us- -you had 2 wide oceans separating you from your potential enemies. It was not until Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and Germany and Italy declared war on the US that we were dragged in.

"Glad to hear you're in Darfur"

We do what we can, for sure...

I failed to see reference to your peacekeeping troops in Sudan that are busily keeping the Arabs from slaughtering the blacks. Numerous nations are working on the diplomatic front- -including this one. For all the good such non-action has done.

"16 year olds on average ARE more physically fit and have more endurance than 45 year olds"

"on average" is irrelevant to my argument. There are many over 35's whom are as physically capable as many 16's. But a 45 year old is not nearly as susceptible to propaganda and "heroism".

Exactly. And an army of young kids will beat an army of old men (other things being equal) for just that reason.

Laws are not made by 16 year old kids. Laws are made by 40+ people who see that their self interests are addressed.
WShen we HAD a draft, you couldn't be drafted at 16, either.

"You're the product of those 18-year-old boys they shangaied out of London pubs and woke up at sea on British warships."

Here is the ship's list for 1901.

Cute, but no banana. You know what I was referring to. We and the Brits fought a second war to which a variant of that activity was a contributing cause.

"In the 1991 census more than 30% of Canadians reported an origin other than British or French"

Absolutely. We've got quite a mixture too. And I've been in Canada recently enough to see that you do too.

Canadians come from everywhere--including the U.S. of A.
Americans come from everywhere- -including Canada. We've got quite a collection of your former citizens down here. Most blend in so well that most Americans are unaware that they were originally Canadian.
Keep sending them. They've been a credit to our nation.
