Nixon-Agnew were given the chance to resign before impeachment. That is a proper thing to do. But Bush-Cheney's crimes are much more serious. Of course not all of them have been proven yet, but any common sense person can see what their scam was, energy gouging, election fraud and using lies and exaggerations to mislead us into a poorly-planned costly war.

Sorry, neither Nixon nor Agnew was impeached.

You can view it that way if you need to, but IMHO resigning in disgrace with the full knowledge that an impeachment trial was the other option for them is even worse!

Bush and Cheney, if impeached, will likely resign too. Because they are even bigger cowards than Nixon and Agnew.
