I think it is better not to get into losing wars

We weren't losing in Vietnam - we bombed the North Vietnamese to the Paris peace table and we didn't lose a single engagement in VN.

And we aren't losing in Iraq - there has been an election, a referendum approving the Constitution, and in another month national parliamentary elections. The Baathists and jihadis couldn't even muster a half hearted attempt to disrupt the referendum. Support for terrorism has dropped like a stone throughout the region because of Sunni terrorists killing Muslims in Iraq. Don't confuse "wanting to lose" with actually losing.

How do you think Roosevelt knew he wasn't getting into a losing war?

Did he ask you first?

What about Lincoln?

What about Washington?

Who advised them?
