Thus my post: Who has done studies and polls, and how did they ever come up with the idea that a majority of customers are offended by the use of the term Merry Christmas by employees of retail stores? The answers to these questions have been conveniently left out of the equation.

Evidentially there are more people offended by the use of the term Merry Christmas than not, but I don't know that. According to your scenario that must be so.

Retail is a very competitive and low margin business. They work very hard to get customers in the door and to get them in a shopping mood once they're inside. A one percent drop in business is a disaster for them.

I've had a long business career and I can tell you from first hand experience that my Company refused to do business with more than 10% of potential customers. This due to their being incompetent, dishonest or otherwise unprofitable.

Your statement quoted above is utterly false.
