When the Republican president and the Republican congress passed their first budget and included funding for the NEA and public broadcasting, I knew we were in trouble.

All the talk about protecting taxpayers was just that, talk.

I can't argue that Tim. I should have been clearer. When people talk about the budget they usually clump figures together which is unfair, however, if you remove all the incidentals and still see and increase in spending then there's a possible problem. Could be a valid argument for line item veto too.
