M, that's hilarious: <They don't attend American schools so are therefore not taught about the hard fought battle for liberty and the value of democracy. >

Do you seriously think that only American schools teach about the hard fought battle for liberty and the value of democracy?

<And people not born in America almost always find the accused guilty until proven innocent. It works the other way around in America. Give it a go and see if you can grasp that concept. >

M, that's even more hilarious! Have you not heard of antiwar.com and Guantanamo Bay and rendition and water-boarding to get confessions?

We have our own suspected terrorists and way of handling them. Zaoui for example, is living in Auckland and is now a celebrity. The Supreme Court required his release from prison despite security concerns by the government. He is now so well-known that he couldn't conduct terrorist operations if he wanted to. He has a fan club. I think he is a lot happier than the people in those photos linked above. I doubt his treatment in NZ would cause many Islamic Jihadists to seek revenge, which I imagine might happen as a result of what happened in those photos.

I gave it a go and came up with Alice in Wonderland and 1984 where peace is war etc...

The USA didn't invent liberty and democracy. Far from it. Many around the world think the USA is far from liberty-loving, especially for people who are not American. Even a lot of Americans are concerned about the USA government suffocatocracy and increasing government control.

The USA has been slow in defending liberty at times; think WWII for example. While NZers were 'in the trenches' the USA was making money from it but not doing a lot more.

You didn't give me the definition I asked for though. I'm still in the dark as to what you think. Was it GDP? Land? Tax base? Your pocketbook? King George II's? Republican Party interests?
