BBM, re <So can you settle this for us? True or not true? Or is she just pulling my leg? >

She's pulling your leg of lamb. I think your wife was sucking up to your inflated ego and making a joke which she knew would go down well in your ideological mindset.

< Anyway, in passing she made the comment that people from New Zealand eat a lot of sheep. Therefore everyone in New Zealand smells like sheep.

She also has a Chinese sense of humor, you see.
>

That's a Chinese joke? Why do Icelanders smell of fish? They eat so many ... oh I'm in fits of laughter. Why do Americans smell of Big Mac? Because they eat so many! Hahahahaha!! Let's hope Chinese "humour" doesn't take over the world.

I think you must have left out some discussion about NZers being like sheep, which they are. Then it would be funnier.

They eat so many they start to behave like them and smell like them and so vote anti-noocular in a nervous mindless flock. Not exactly uproarious, but good for a cynical snicker from the RRR. I dare say that was more the source of her joke. Mint source. The CIA has freshly-minted sources too. Oh hahaha... giggle.

<in your mind, The United States of America and Argentina are virtually indistinguishable?>

I wonder how you could conclude that from what I wrote. Strange logic you are running there BBM. RRR logic I suppose.

You don't need to come here to see if NZers are like sheep. They are. But it's not that we eat a lot of lamb, or mutton. You eat more than we do. Hmmm. Perhaps we have an explanation of some of your ideology right there. Have you smelled under yourself recently. Have a sniff and tell me if you get a whiff of sheep.

Lamb is so expensive that there isn't a lot of it sold these days in NZ. It's nearly all for export. These days it's mostly chicken, beef, pig and fish. The economy has gone relatively down the gurgler here after decades of socialism and government waste and welfarism and even places like China can afford NZ products which NZers can't. NZ is increasingly a bludger society, though official unemployment is near all-time lows. Bludger societies don't do well. Producer societies do well; producer societies with private property rights, which have been decimated in NZ.
