As Claude mentioned, the most important thing is to develop rules that work for you and stick to them. My 15% rule is based on my entire portfolio value. I have no issue with CKG or BCM being 15% of the total as long as I believe THAT particular stock is a valid risk/reward.

I have one O&G stock, PBG (Petrobank) that is nearly that percentage as well - different sector. I follow a bit of the Jesse livermore approach - dont own too many stocks, just the ones you think are the best. I usually don't own any more than 15 and usually around 10.
