13:22 BRCM Broadcom could be big winner as a result of CSCO/SFA deal - Harris Nesbitt (47.50 +0.29) -Update-

Harris Nesbitt believes that BRCM could potentially be a big winner as a result of CSCO's acquisition of SFA. Firm notes that CSCO's Linksys unit is BRCM's largest WLAN customer, and notes that SFA currently buys cable modem, PVR-related cable set-top box chips, and limited MPEG-4 chips from BRCM, while the bulk of SFA's cable set-top boxes are internal SFA ASICs. Firm thinks that as WLAN, video, and cable get integrated, this could open up the SFA cable-set-top box business to a chip supplier like BRCM, and they think that CSCO would likely be interested in outsourcing more of the SFA ASIC business to squeeze costs.
