Agreed. I am watching the Murtha/Cheney battle and am amazed how much balls Cheney has when he goes after heroic vets. I avoided service in Vietnam and am not proud of my inablility to at least give our servicemen a break post war. I was very young and very stupid although i have never swayed from my opposition to that war because it was stupid and unwinnable imho.
But then there is cheney with his 6 deferrments attacking guys like McCain, Kerry, Cleland, and now Murtha for having differing opinions and accusing some or all of cowardice. It boggles. It is one thing to play hardball and quite another to disparage patriotism of the above named folks. On another thread some time ago when i brought this up, a fellow named unclewest told me that McCain was dumb for getting caught and Cleland dumb for being close to where explosives went off. When Col Jack Jacobs Medal of Honor winner went negative on the war this same guy said some medal of honor winners were dumb. I wonder what he says about Murtha now.
