"He was a real hawk.

No he wasn't."

Ok, let us look at Muthra's record. He is a decorated Marine in both Korea and Vietnam. If anybody in Congress knows the meaning of phrases like "stalemate" or "quagmire", it should be him.

The fact of the matter is he is a Marine. Not only is he a Marine, he is a veteran of two conflicts that the US is most focussed on ignoring. Neither yielded a clear victory. Both were dominated by political considerations. Both wasted a lot of lives for an essential stalemate. Neither settled the problems of their era.

Muthra isn't some nobody who should be ignored when the issues of our Iraq adventure comes up.
