I guess all those people (Elroy, tejek, Amy) who claim Muslims in the Middle East enjoy freedom and human rights must be smoking some of those funny cigarettes.

Please link me to the posts where I claimed ME Muslims have political freedom or are given human rights by their governments or societal structures. I don't think posts from me saying that exist.

No one I know disputes the idea that ME Muslims have amongst the most backasswards political systems on the planet.

What does this have to do with CSCO's Nov-Jan rally, anyway??

Here's some hard data on the lack of freedom in the Middle East, except Israel. I guess all those people (Elroy, tejek, Amy) who claim Muslims in the Middle East enjoy freedom and human rights must be smoking some of those funny cigarettes.

Once again, MM, you are setting up a strawman to make your point. I don't think I or Elroy or Amy have ever said that the ME enjoys "freedom and human rights". All Amy has said is that there have been more women leaders in the ME than the US and at least in that regard, they are more progressive than we are. All Elroy has said is that the Muslims have a legitimate gripe when it comes to Israel.......something I have seconded, and that the average Muslim does not necessarily support the behavior of the extreme. All I have said is that terrorists are the Muslim extremists and not the norm.

I don't think any of us although I will let Amy and Elroy speak for themselves believe that the Muslim world is a symbol of freedom and a model for human rights.

If you were more open with yourself, you should be asking why its so important for you to vilify unfairly the Muslim world because of the behavior of a few.
