Maybe this had something to do with it.

403-3 AGAINST TROOP PULLOUT...

Murtha voted AGAINST his own comments from yesterday.

I heard several serving military in effect call Murtha's proposal an act of cowardice. I see his proposal that way myself. It seems Murtha got the message and voted against immediate withdrawal, his own cowardly suggestion. Was that a cowardly reversal of Murtha?

How do these chicken hawks get a way with it?

Sure they talk the talk but when it came time to put their own ass on the line it was "foggetaboutit".

How this isn't a huge issue with their supporters totally amazes me.

Bush, Cheney, Rove, Delay - all were very comfortable and nowhere to be seen when the country called and it got down and dirty during the conflict of their generation. Really, flying jet fighters over the fields of Texas DOES NOT qualify as getting down and dirty when thousands died and got maimed in 'Nam. It was the rich boy's way out.

But what really amazes me is the pure nerve they exhibit in criticizing those who did "get busy" when their country called.

I still can't believe the slime job Rove did on Kerry stuck. How did that find traction? How stupid are those who support the Republican Party?

How does a Republican supporter reconcile these obviously conflicting views. Why are they so happy to be lead by a bunch of war avoiding, rich chickens?

Whisper a few trite patriotic slogans in the ear of a typical Republican working stiff and he will follow a coward like Rove off the ends of the earth.
