Six months and immediate is close enough for me when withdrawing 148000 troops and support.

The republicans called the democrats on their bluff. Another new unrelated round of rhetoric will be started next week I'm sure.

What part of "immediate" am I missing?"

Assuming a headline is the complete statement is dicey at best...

"Murtha said troops should be withdrawn in stages, so their safety is not jeopardized. He suggested that all 148,000 could be withdrawn within six months, but that a "rapid deployment force'' should be kept somewhere else in the Middle East."

Isn't it amazing that the truth means so little to them? They distort everything in an effort to jam their agenda down people's throats.
