Seriously for a moment, I've found one of the best places to find handy but obscure little kitchen gadgets is Ace Hardware. They always seem to have the right doo-dad that I can never locate in places like Walmart or Bed Bath and Beyond. I've been amazed at how often this has proven true. Something as simple as a pie keeper, for instance, or a food mill.
