Your trying to corner the argument with narrow questions. I do believe that an elected official can authorize war after conferring with the experts who have been there and know war HOWEVER - right now you have war evaders like Cheney and Bush questioning the patriotism of anyone criticizing the Bush war. I don't think that someone like Cheney speaks with moral authority about patriotism considering he had the chance to serve his country when the country needed him and Cheney deferred 5 times. That Cheney attack Murtha a 37 yr vetran of 2 wars - what the hell is Cheney smoking?
