Contrived late in the day after Serbian nationalist forces had cleansed wide swaths of Bosnia of its Muslim population,

That is a helluva point at which to begin that explanation.

No mention of the tens of thousands of Christians who had been slaughtered previously, nor the hundreds of thousands of same who had been driven from their homes, businesses and villages.

"Iraq and Bosnia are about as different as two countries can be, but our experience in the Balkans has taught us over the past decade that steadfastness and patience can deliver peace,"

Anyone who thinks we have seen the last fighting between Muslims, Serbs and Croats has been drinking the kool aid.
Pull out the NATO troops and watch what happens.

Mr. Holbrooke is a kerry supporter and was in running for sec. of state or defense should kerry have gotten elected. prior to his ambitions as sec. appointment he appeared to be quiet on Iraq. imo It seemed once kerry put some personal opportunities out in front of Holbrooke did he become much more active and make tv appearances etc.
