Evidently, he brow bear Edsel, and gave him very low self esteem that hurt his tenure as the leader of the company.
I think the car helped quite a bit. :-)

I can remember the car named the Edsel very well because one T boned my 1940 Ford coupe, and that car was considered one of the bombs of the industry, but I don't know why.
Bad styling? It had those HUGE fins just when fins were dying. And it got much bad press for the "horse collar" front end.

"We should declare war on Russia while we have the army assembled to do so".
Couldn't have been sold, I think. People were tired of war. And the Russians had done an excellent job of penetrating the press and gov't to the point where many people actually thought they WERE allies at the end of the war.
