I agree with your analysis upto a point. Where I disagree with is that the democratically elected Shia Govt. in Iraq and Iran will move to exterminate Israel. I think the focus of the Arab world has shifted from Israel to their becoming a political force in the world. A force which will allow them to have unfrettered access to the nuclear bomb, a force where they can actively promote Islam in areas where they are a minority etc. etc. Off course, in this approach, Israel will also be gobbled up.

So now the question is how do we tackle this. We have to tackle this on a political level using the economic weapon of the Western powers. I do not agree with Bush's approach of a military solution since the Islamic fighters are fighting a guerilla war which in years past have been successful in Vietnam, Cuba etc.

So the idea is to get all the powers that be to the table like Sr. Bush did. The moderate Arab nations have to be brought to the table along with with other European and Western powers. A military solution is not the way to go, IMHO.

And thanks for a meaningful post which stimulates a good debate.
