The Elaph Arab media website reported on Sunday that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the head of the al-Qaida in Iraq terror group, may have been killed in Iraq on Sunday afternoon when eight terrorists blew themselves up in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.

The unconfirmed report claimed that the explosions occurred while coalition forces surrounded the house in which al-Zarqawi was hiding. American and Iraqi forces are looking into the report.

So Murtha thinks the majority or all of the senior Military commander are lying about what is going on. Sounds like proof positive Murtha is mental to me.

"and that though the commanders on the ground tell him that things are going well, he knows that they have to repeat what they're told to say and really think things are terrible."

When Steph "guesses" he always guesses on the anti-American side ...this was in response to the number of trained Iraqi troops....

Rumsfeld pointed out that our own troops need our own help, that Steph's statement was misleading.

Never thought before about what Rumsfeld was actually meaning....Our own troops DO need our own help. The Iraqi's don't have planes, helicopters, transport vehicles, companies like Halliburton, translators (not all the documents are in the same language)....plus hospitals, and trained staff for those facilities, medical supplies and equipment, and everything else that we all take for granted ....

Have any on the Left come to grips with this actual reality when they demand the troops come home "immediately".....???? I have come to the conclusion that the Left has not come to grips with much of anything to do with Iraq....and perhaps much of anything else.

And this is so true, as we are beginning to realize....

He said that we are in a new period, where we have to fight not nation-states but organizations with different capabilities. "A lot of people have their mindset back in the cold war." It's easy for the terrorists to turn, he said, but it's impossible to focus a bureaucracy and the people from one thing to another in an instant.<<<
