No one wants to acknowledge the elephant in the room.....the oil. They've got a hold of the prize and don't want to let go. "Iraqi freedom" is nothing but rhetoric. Bringing troops home, what's so difficult about transporting troops?

The Powell Doctrine ignored the aims of the war, which was to capture the oil fields and enrich Halliburton.

There were other minor considerations, but it was the oil money that blinded them to common sense.
