I am afraid this story is true. Here is a link to a short article about it. dailykos.com

Her name was Nadia Anjuman.

This story says her husband and mother were both arrested.

I can't imagine what warped thinking would provoke them so.

The London Times has an article about the death of a woman poet in Afghanistan. Her book is Dark Flower.

Speculation exists as to whether or not she was killed because of her verse, ------poetry forbidden for a woman to write----or committed suicide.

Rather dangerous to be a woman poet there.
