Cheney too is backing away from his slurs about Murtha- boy, those polls must have been something to see...

I'm not sure the "dishonest and reprehensible" epithets are going to play all that well, though, except to the faithful- and you can't win an election with only the faithful.

WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney charged Monday that some Senate Democrats were "dishonest and reprehensible" for suggesting that President Bush lied to the nation about going to war in Iraq and said he strongly disagrees with a battle-tested congressman who advocates a pullout. Cheney backed away from earlier administration characterizations of Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., as a coward and instead clled him "a good man, a Marine, a patriot."
