You hit the nail on the head! One generation work hard and then push the next to college seeing the diploma as the passport to the elite.

<<8,000 sq. feet are just normal anymore.>> That's 743.20 m2.

That's quite big, but it depends on the size of a family. I'm building a house in Curitiba for 3 peoeple: Me wife and kid.

My architect told my wife: you need 180m2 to live. Then you need to put on top 100m2 which are you quality of life: Things like your office, entertainment room.

I, pragmatic as I am, counted avery m2 and I could get everything on 250m2or 2,667.50 Square Feet.

25.000sq ft? You could play tennis inside the bloody thing!!!

>I ask myself, if these Asians are so smart, why are they running grocery stores and restaurants and dry cleaners? I already know the answer, because they make a lot of money. But then why does it matter how good they were in math? You don't need to know derivatives to run a grocery store or a beauty parlor.<

You might want to visit Silicone Valley and to your surprise find that Asians run at least a third of the high-tech companies there. Silicone Valley is still THE hotbed for advanced technology in the world and as the Bay Area is the most racially diverse and most accepting environment in the U.S., it is of no surprise to me that Asians succeeded there the most.

<<The American dream seems to be all the way to 25,000 sq. feet house! 8,000 sq. feet are just normal anymore. God help the people who live in the houses with only 1500 sq feet.>>

Don't know what elite group of America you live in. The ones I know would be thrilled to have a 2,000 sq.ft. homes.
