how can the average joe afford those prices?

The average Joe can't afford a beachfront cottage, either. Supply and demand.

Isn't everything all about egos and making the big bucks- unless you choose to work in an underpaid profession, or volunteer your time?

I'm trying to think of any real career where people don't want to make a fortune- and all people who invest in the stock market certainly want to make one (or why invest?)- most don't, but I think 99% want to.

If the lucky give back something, it's better than the lucky ones who give back nothing. IMO

Agreed

It was once in a lifetime event. Never gamble so spent money to see Celine and it was worth every sense. Brightman had a one night concert in an arena. Acoustics terrible and sound system poor so it was not worth the effort or money.

In NC the shows that are performed at local colleges are much more reasonable. Sarasota has gotten pricey.. NC is still home town low key.
