Got a better idea? Maybe force all defendants to get public defenders?

Dunno for sure, but abolish the death penalty either way...sentence people to life w/o parole in extreme cases. This guy might have been around for his case to be reheard. In Illinois an audit found 13 of 25 cases leading to be exhonerated in 2000. Gov Ryan, then a GOP supporter of the death penalty, suspended all executions at the time. I think they are still pondering the matter.

Al, The process is inherently broken...justice is unequal for people under differing economic conditions. This guy was represented by a public defender...

Ending the death penalty would be good for starters..........
