Hi Sitka, welcome aboard. I take it by your name that you may very well hail from the great state of Alaska, and a real nice part of it too.

Yes, the best explanation if we do indeed launch out of this 2 year SPX mess is a running triangle. From a strict TA standpoint, a bearish rising wedge which breaks counter to the anticipated direction is a very bullish development and I think the bears had their chance to run with the bearish diagonal idea already, although mc thinks the diagonal may morph into a larger one and continue to grind higher, an idea that I think is possible, but I'm not favouring. For now all I see are longs in most of the charts I am looking at so I'll worry about the macro count another time.

You've popped in as the Ending Diagonal vs. Running Correction debate is really heating up so you should be well-entertained, and please feel free to post regularly.
