It seemed to me that the hunting bit was consistent with the general irreverence of the show. Likewise the Nazi bit.

[At the beginning of the show, an temp attending showed up and condescendingly brushed off Bailey and Gray saying he would only work with the resident they call "the Nazi." Arrogant jerk. In the end, it turned out that Bailey was "the Nazi."]

Yes, the story line about the PVS guy who woke up was intense.
