Great post. And here's some interesting background on your last point: csmonitor.com True, our immigration "policy" is a complete mess (if not simply a joke). Seemingly, nothing will ever change this state of affairs. However, if there is ever another terror attack on the US, and if those terrorists came across the open Mexican border, there will be a storm such as we've never seen. That would be the tipping point, IMHO, for real immigration reform (or simply a panicked attempt to round up all the illegals - which would cause an immediate depression in this illegal-immigrant-addicted economy of ours).
