Allbright -- Cinton's Secretary of State --asserted during the 1990s regarding the huge death toll from the sanctions that it was worth it to get rid of Saddam. That statement is as cruel and bloodthirsty as anything the Bushie neo-cons have asserted. Even today most of the opposition to the war is occurring because of the mounting toll of US casualties. Most Americans could not care less about the vastly greater Iraq death toll from the sanctions and invasion.
