OK... but I asked a simple question and you gave a direct answer.

YOU came up with the 'good guy' description.

YOU then answered that 'the Kurds and the Shiites are the good guys', which sure sounds like you want to take sides in the civil war.

Or, are you going to have the US forces shooting down all *Shi'a* 'terrorists' who attack the Sunnis back (like the Badr Brigade, or a dozen other militias).

And, when those brigades are the official 'law' (as they are right now in the second largest city of Iraq)... you would have us do... what exactly? Move against them?

If we are forced to attack BOTH sides, then just how tenable to you think our occupation will remain? Some 80% or so of locals answer right now that they want us out... and believe that the violence can never be settled as long as 'foreign occupiers' remain....

And, if we don't, if ONE SIDE can get away with murder and corruption while the other cannot... then, what are we really doing but making a choice between Iran and Saudi Arabia... and which one's sphere of influence we wish to increase at the expense of the other.

Or, do you still believe that Hosannas and a happy girl scout sing-along are going to break out just any minute over there?

(I can only observe: the available evidence, the trends in statistics, say otherwise.)
