I just checked the TA of Financial Markets by Murphy. He doesn't expressly spell out the "no D beyond B" rule, but all his pictures follow this concept. It's sort of implied in the definitions. You can look into it further... if and when you feel like it.

Anyway, while you'll agree that it is important from time to time to discuss some principles, we are here not to play academic technicians, but to trade. To me, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of "stretched out" triangles. Got caught in too many ED "Hounds" not to appreciate it. I think it will be useful to us.

Makes sense. Some of those "dogs" are series of 1's and 2's, others - "stretched out" 4's or B's -- right where one would expect a triangle. Mystery solved?... maybe.. -g
