I have never made the claim that Bush lied. He ignored dissent that questioned his assumptions. When making the case to go to war, because some country is a threat to you, you need to make that assessment more fully than we did. Having read much of the intel we had it was not a slam dunk. Did Saddam need watching? Yes. Did he need international pressure and scrutiny? Yes. A war that has cost us 200 lives and nearly 300 billion? No.

It could have and should have been done differently. I am not just trying to pin blame on W. If we are going to live in a world where pre-emptive strikes are the new foreign policy we better get it right. I hope we learn that from this experience.
